Nintendo has this week declared their intentions to invade Comic Con with what their marketing department has labelled a strong lineup! readers may notice a few already released 3ds titles being shown off, as well as sequels abound, and a little eye candy in the form of hands on demos and short films.

When Comic Con kicks off at Manhatten’s Javits Center between the 13th and the 16th of October, Nintendo has indicated that they will arrive in force with a lineup of holiday titles which have been deemed by Nintendo to constitute a strong showing. The 3DS will be represented with heavy hitters Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7, along with the previously released The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and Star Fox 64 3D. Those games will be joined by Tetris: Axis, Pokemon: Rumble Blast, Shinobi and the forthcoming Sonic Generations. Not to be outdone, Nintendo’s Wii lineup will include the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Fortune Street, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land and Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure. Meanwhile Nintendo’s aging DS is still going strong with Professor Layton and the Last Specter and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2.

Nintendo’s Comic Con presence is not just about the games though, with Nintendo staging an exclusive screening of the feature film Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva. The screening is to kick off at 20:00 on the 14th of October in Room 1B01 of the Javits Center. Meanwhile gamers keen to get their hands on Pokemon: Rumble Blast might want to head on down to Nintendo’s Pokemon Gaming Lounge located a block away at Stage 37 – there they will find what Nintendo’s marketing has termed an “expanded interactive experience”, allowing players to get a hands on feel for the upcoming game!

  1. I really like the “Mario Kart 7” title. Super Mario 3D Land is horrible. It’s not nearly as bad as Dream Drop Distance or 358/2, however. Love the diction in this news story, btw.
